RVS began serving clients in Westchester County and Greenwich Connecticut over 30 years ago. After years of working in the plant nursery and hospitality trades, we decided to combine a love for outdoor enviornments and our experience in hospitality, to create ideal outdoor living spaces with functionality, practicality and sustainability at the forefront. FAQ

When should I turn on my sprinkler system?

Sprinklers can be turned on and inspected in the spring as soon as the weather allows for it. During the spring irrigation tends to take care of itself with constant rain and mild temperatures. So after inspections they can remain off until there is a drought or the weather gets warmer. Each properties irrigation needs are different depending on plant/lawn types, sun light exposure, geographics etc so for a more detailed assessment of your irrigation needs please reach out to one of our staff.

(Important! Sprinkler systems should be turned off after heavy rainfall to avoid overwatering which can lead to fungus and disease) 

When should I turn off my sprinkler system?

After each season of use irrigation systems should be winterized by removing all standing water from the pipes. This should be done before the ground freezes. If there is any planting done on the property during the fall it’s best to wait as long as possible to winterize the system to allow plants to get the most water before winter.
